(I). Mysore Palace

(a). Mysore has a number of historic palaces, and is commonly described as the City of Palaces. However, the term "Mysore Palace" specifically refers to one within the old fort. The palace was commissioned in 1897, and its construction was completed in 1912. It is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in Mysore.
(b). Every autumn, the Palace is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara festival, during which leading artists perform on a stage set up in the palace grounds. On the tenth day of the festival Vijaya Dashami, a parade with caparisoned elephants and other floats originate from the palace grounds.

(II).Brindavan Garden

One of the most visited places in Mysore by locals and by tourists is the famous Brindavan Gardens. Located about 19kms from the heart of Mysore these beautiful gardens are laid out below the Krishnaraja Sagar dam built across the river Cauvery. These gardens are famous for the illuminated dancing fountains that come to life after sunset. The Krishnaraja Sagar Dam (KRS) (known as Kannambadi to the locals) itself is a superb example of excellent engineering and itself is a tourist attraction in Mysore. Sir M. Vishveswariah, one of India's finest engineers, built it in 1924.

(III). Krishna Raja Sagara DAM

he dam was built across river Kaveri, the life giving river for the Mysore and Mandya districts, in 1924[1]. Apart from being the main source of water for irrigation in the most fertile Mysore and Mandya.

(IV).Chamundeshwari Temple and Hill

(V) Nandi Statue

(b). Nandi sits 15 feet high, 24 feet in width and is carved out of a single piece of rock.

(VI). St. Philomena's Church,

(a). A church at the same location was built in 1843 by the then Maharaja Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar.
(b). The twin spires of the church are 175 feet (53 m) in heigh.

(VII) Railway Museum

Today there are number of Railway Museums in different parts of the country. But the first one was set up 1979 in Mysore. The museum is situated opposite the CFT Research Institute on Krishnaraja Sagar Road. The museum has a good collection of photographs and objects related to the development of the railways.
